We just came back, inspired by this unique experience that we wanted to share with you. The first sequences of the documentary "A fleurs de peau" are now shot.

Story of the extraordinary adventure of composer Alexandre Dai Castaing.

This project, led by KNM Prod, explores music, sensitivity, and humanity, through the deep connections that Alexandre maintains with others in a rather innate way.

Beyond his music, À fleurs de peau is a documentary about the invisible vibration that connects him to others. Our time in Japan gave the film a new resonance, that of music in its primary sense, like a universal language that serves to dialogue, meet, bear witness, but also to share and transmit. It is his voice, his passport, and his vehicle for life.

So from Tokyo to Sado Island, we crossed worlds made of sounds, silences, precise gestures, and infinite kindness.

Three weeks of total disorientation. Nothing had prepared us for what we experienced. Not knowing what to order for dinner. Getting lost on the subway. Not understanding, then finding ourselves again.

And, at every turn, we encountered attention, a gesture, a smile. This experience transformed us.

Documentary filming in Japan of a multifaceted artist

À fleurs de peau follows the unique journey of this unclassifiable composer, whose music spans classical, jazz, electronica, and ancestral traditions. A multifaceted artist, whose connection with Japan is as strong as it is moving.

Alexandre is a sharing person. Sharing experiences, emotions, a blend of genres and people. From the legendary drums of the Kodo collective to the refinement of calligraphy, from Noh theater to a two-piano concert, every moment was an immersion in a culture of rare delicacy.

A film shoot in Japan that reconciles with the human soul.

This shoot was also a learning experience. Japan offered us a lesson in gentleness, precision, and respect.

There, we take off our shoes.

We put slippers back on.

We speak softly.

We listen. We discover that punctuality is a form of respect.

That attention to others is almost instinctive.

And that kindness is a way of life.

The final word

Beyond the images captured in this first destination, Japan, we bring back fragments of a world where simplicity reigns supreme, where every gesture counts. A flower in a vase. A dim light behind a shutter. An 80-year-old woman cleaning the street for the good of her community.

It’s hard to put into words what we experienced…

But one thing is certain: À fleurs de peau will also be imbued with that Japanese delicacy that has moved us so deeply.

Thank you to all those who guided, supported, and welcomed us. Thank you to Kyoko Ichihashi, Yoshie Abe, Chie Yamawaki and the Kodo collective, Shinya Kobayashi, Fugaku Watanabe, Yui Inase, and Christian. Thank you to Alexandre for his generosity and his music. Thank you to Ivy Gamboa, manager of all situations. And thank you to Japan for this lesson in slowness, grace, and humanity.

This is just the beginning of the adventure. We can't wait to share what's next.

To be continued very soon…
